It is one of the first centers in India operating outside of a hospital environment.

The center employs a doctor and eight healthcare operators and will be responsible for treating workers and their families affected by COVID-19.

Built in three weeks, the unit is equipped with remote patient monitoring, data analytics on diagnostics and medicine management, high-flow oxygen machines, remote consultations using augmented reality, data availability across the globe for e-consults, and an AI-enabled X-ray imaging system.

The group also restarted supply and delivery to the OEM and aftermarket channels.

The company said in a statement that its absolute priority is the safety of its workforce, and it has introduced new safety protocols, including distancing workers, using structures to separate work units, housing for workers to limit the need for mass transit, body temperature sensors, and medical checks at the start of each shift.

BKT set up a task force to create the operating plan, which underwent government evaluation.

The headquarters in Mumbai have been closed since the government lockdown began. Sales and service continue remotely.

BKT has employed the same strategies for mitigating risk in Europe.
