SDF made the decision after analyzing the circumstances of the pandemic in Europe, it said. Despite the control measures and the vaccination campaign worldwide, the company says the future scenario is uncertain.

The announcement follows last month’s decision by John Deere to not attend Agritechnica; it cited similar reasons. Parts company Kramp has pulled out of both EIMA and Agritechnica, and BKT will not be at the Italian show.

The German Agricultural Society (DLG), which organizes Agritechnica, remains optimistic that the physical event will go ahead. In a recent press release, the DLG said 90 percent of the exhibition grounds are booked. It expects more than 2,000 exhibitors, including AGCO, Kubota, Kuhn, Krone, Lemken, Pöttinger and Väderstad.
