The Canadian headquarters for Raven Applied Technology will serve as the central campus for precision and autonomous agriculture innovation, training and service for Raven Canada.

“Establishing a headquarters for Raven Canada in Saskatchewan proves our dedication to this pivotal market,” said Brian Meyer, vice president of Raven Applied Technology. “Our history with precision ag solutions in Canada has provided confidence that this location will be a catalyst for significant growth for Raven.”

The new 21,000-square-foot building will house operations such as assembling, manufacturing and testing for Raven Dot Power Platforms. Raven acquired DOT Technology Corp. in June.

In related news, Raven reported a 22 percent increase in third-quarter net sales in its applied technology segment, which was driven by growth in the OEM channel. Consolidated net sales were down 3.9 percent for the quarter.

Raven also has announced a partnership with Economic Development Regina (EDR) in which Raven will provide resources to EDR’s Agriculture and Food Initiative to support collaboration for agriculture throughout Western Canada.

The acquisition, according to an announcement from Raven, is an indication of the company’s confidence in its ability to “expand its market share in precision ag technology.”

Hubertus Mühlhäuser has resigned from his role as chief executive officer for CNH Industrial to pursue other interests. The board accepted his resignation effective immediately and appointed Suzanne Heywood as acting chief executive officer. Heywood is also chair of the CNH board.

In other news from CNH, the company has extended the suspension of its European operations until April 17.

Kubota and Microsoft have embarked upon a multi-year strategic alliance aimed at accelerating Kubota’s digital transformation. Through the alliance, Kubota will migrate its IT infrastructure and SAP mission-critical systems onto Microsoft Azure’s cloud platform.

Dot Technology Establishes Subsidiary /news/dot-technology-establishes-subsidiary/ Tue, 22 Oct 2019 18:26:51 +0000 /?p=8433 Dot Technology Corp. has established an Alberta subsidiary, Dot Intelligence Inc., based out of the Alberta Machinery Intelligence Institute in Edmonton.

The goal in establishing this subsidiary is to focus on the development of leading-edge technologies and enhance adoption of the Dot robotic system for use in autonomous farming.

The Alberta-based team will focus on computer vision, machine learning optimization, and intelligent navigation.

“This is a clear signal that we are committed to providing broad-acre farmers with the safest, most cost effective, and most efficient autonomous robotic system available in the world,” said CEO Robert Saik. “It also shows our commitment to driving Canadian agricultural innovation across the globe.”

By the end of 2021, Dot Intelligence Inc. plans to add to the team members that have moved from Regina to Edmonton with approximately 20 new hires.

Cory Beaujot, managing director of marketing, sales, and communication at Seedmaster Manufacturing and Dot Technology Corp., is a panelist at the autonomous farming session at the fall convention and will also speak at the Tillage Council meeting.

For more than 30 years, Solberg has built teams and led retail expansion for Andrukow Group of Companies, Crop Production Services, and most recently Winfield. He has excelled in new technology integration on the farm, an announcement from the company said.

“Craig brings deep expertise and experience to our team,” said CEO Robert Saik. “Dot Technology Corp. is now in the commercialization phase, and we’re looking to make a lasting impression on the history of agriculture. With Craig on our team, we believe we can do just that.”

Solberg said it is “clear that Dot represents the next phase of farming—and the industry is excited and ready.”

The company manufactures Dot, a patented autonomous diesel-powered platform, in Saskatchewan.

Cory Beaujot, managing director of marketing, sales, and communications for the company, will represent Dot on the autonomous farming panel at the marketing convention in St. Louis in November. He also will speak to the Tillage Council.
