Emily Grunewald with Big Iron said last week that Case IH withdrew from the show about a month before it opened because it didn’t have enough equipment. And, she has seen companies that usually bring 10 pieces to shows bring three instead.

Grunewald also has heard reports of exhibitors bringing in used equipment from local customers. She said the challenges go beyond demand.

“One of the challenges is the technology and the shortage of technology (like) microchips that are in that equipment such as tractors that there’s a shortage on,” she said. “And in the world we’re all facing right now, labor is a problem (as well).”

National Farm Machinery Show Cancelled for 2021 /news/national-farm-machinery-show-cancelled-for-2021/ Thu, 28 Jan 2021 22:58:12 +0000 /?p=12793 LOUISVILLE, Ky. (January 26, 2021) — National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS) and Championship Tractor Pull announced scheduled events will be postponed until February 16-19, 2022. Despite initially planning to continue the shows this March, the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic has led show management to make the difficult decision to postpone events until next year.

“The health and safety of our guests, exhibitors and coworkers is our highest priority and unfortunately the best way to keep them safe is to postpone the show. Postponing the National Farm Machinery Show and Championship Tractor Pull was not made lightly, but in consultation with exhibitors, pullers, sponsors, and attendees who are a valuable part of our decision-making process” said President and CEO of Kentucky Venues David S. Beck.

The National Farm Machinery Show is held annually at the Kentucky Exposition Center and is the largest indoor farm show in the country consisting of 1.2 million square feet of sold-out exhibit space. The show is a key player in the global agriculture industry featuring the most comprehensive display of equipment, services, and technology.

Held in conjunction with the farm show, Championship Tractor Pull draws more than 70,000 fans in person and online from across the globe to watch five action-packed pulls over the course of four days. Sponsored by Syngenta, the event draws the nation’s top drivers as they compete for the title of grand champion and a prize pool of over $200,000.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2022 for the 56th National Farm Machinery Show and 53rd Championship Tractor Pull with a focus on the future of agribusiness. As we strive to produce the best experience for everyone, we will take the lessons of 2020 and 2021 to plan a comprehensive show with relevant seminars and educational content alongside the latest state-of-the-art farming equipment,” said Beck.

Exhibitors and Vendors Similar to previous years, space contracted for the prior show is reserved for the same exhibitor at the next show. Exhibitors’ 2020 floor space is reserved in 2022. If you have an interest in exhibiting at the 2022 show, applications will be available online in late-April.

Championship Tractor Pull Ticket Holders Priority ticket holders’ 2020 seats are reserved for 2022. If you purchased seats for 2021, your purchase will be refunded automatically. Please contact the ticket office at 502-367-5144 or email tickets@kyvenues.com if you want your purchase to be applied to 2022. General admission tickets go on sale in fall 2021. Ag Expo: ‘Farmers Haven’t Stopped, Neither Will We’ /news/ag-expo-farmers-havent-stopped-neither-will-we/ Tue, 01 Dec 2020 19:55:51 +0000 /?p=12298 Organizers of the World Ag Expo have announced plans for the 2021 online show, which is Feb. 9-11.

“A digital show is not a replacement for a live event like World Ag Expo,” said Jerry Sinift, International Agri-Center CEO. “But the ag industry has never stopped working, and neither will we.”

World Ag Expo will work with Map Your Show, which has executed more than 120 digital trade shows since March.

The event in February will kick off a year-long approach.

“Instead of just a one-week show, we will be supporting our exhibitors and the online site throughout 2021,” said marketing manager Jennifer Fawkes. “Each exhibitor has a micro-site within the show to share information and hold live chats, along with many other options.”

Attendees can access the content around the clock and participate in live sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific time on show dates.

The exhibitor guide will continue during this virtual year. Past attendees will receive one by mail. Others can pick up a guide at New Holland dealerships.

World Dairy Expo 2020 Cancelled /news/ag/world-dairy-expo-2020-cancelled/ Thu, 04 Jun 2020 23:26:30 +0000 /?p=10718 MADISON, WIS. – For the first time in its 53-year history, World Dairy Expo® has been cancelled. The World Dairy Expo Executive Committee reached this difficult decision based on the public health orders and restrictions related to COVID-19, in place and issued by Public Health Madison & Dane County. World Dairy Expo 2020 was set to take place at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin, September 29 through October 3, 2020. The annual event welcomed more than 62,000 attendees from nearly 100 countries in 2019.

“Our collective heart is heavy as we share with you that World Dairy Expo 2020 has been cancelled,” said Scott Bentley, WDE General Manager. “We know how much this hurts; we feel it, too. Please know other options were explored and considered by the World Dairy Expo Executive Committee and staff.”

The Alliant Energy Center, home to World Dairy Expo, is a county-owned facility that falls under the jurisdiction of Emergency Order #3 and Forward Dane, the phased reopening plan for Dane County. Public health officials predict Dane County may be in the third phase of the plan when World Dairy Expo is set to occur. This phase includes a limit of 250 people at outdoor events, eliminating any possibility that World Dairy Expo, as people know it today, can take place.

“Unwaveringly, we recognize our responsibility is to maintain the health of our community and the safety of all of you as exhibitors, attendees and volunteers and to adhere to the orders dictated by Dane County and the national guidelines from the CDC as they relate to COVID-19,” added Bentley.

More information, a complete statement from World Dairy Expo, and answers to frequently asked questions regarding the decision to cancel World Dairy Expo 2020 can be found at .

Serving as the meeting place of the global dairy industry, World Dairy Expo brings together the latest in dairy innovation and the best cattle in North America. Crowds of more than 62,000 people, from nearly 100 countries, will return to Madison, Wis. for the 54th event, September 28 through October 2, 2021, when the world’s largest dairy-focused trade show, dairy and forage seminars, a world-class dairy cattle show and more will be on display.
