Leonard will succeed Ronald A. Robinson as president and chief executive officer. The transition is effective May 31.

Leonard, who has been with Alamo Group since September 2011, is today the executive vice president of the Industrial Division.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Chairman Roderick R. Baty said this: “Jeff Leonard’s promotion to president and CEO is the culmination of the board’s careful CEO succession planning process. With his mix of experience and strategic vision, we are confident that Jeff is the right person to lead the company in its next phase of growth and development.”

Robinson will remain at Alamo Group through Aug. 1 to assist in the transition. He service as a member of the Board of Directors will continue beyond his departure from the company.

Leonard said he is “honored to succeed” Robinson.

“I would like to offer my sincere thanks to Ron for his leadership during his tenure as CEO and for his valuable advice to me over the past several years,” Leonard said. “I see a very bright future ahead for Alamo Group and I am excited about the prospect of our global Alamo Group team creating an even stronger company while delivering long-term sustainable growth and profitability for our stockholders.”

Alamo CEO Robinson Prepares to Retire /news/alamo-ceo-robinson-prepares-to-retire/ Tue, 05 Jan 2021 20:03:42 +0000 /?p=12586 Ron Robinson, president and CEO of Alamo Group, Inc., will retire upon the appointment of his successor, likely by mid-2021.

The company’s board of directors has been preparing for such a transition and anticipates naming a new president and CEO within the next several months.

In remarks thanking Robinson, Alamo Group Board Chairman Roderick R. Baty said this: “Under his guidance and strategic vision, Alamo Group has grown from a small domestically focused company with nine manufacturing locations, nine distinct brands, 1,100 employees and sales of $177 million, to a multinational company with 27 global manufacturing locations, more than 40 distinct brands, almost 4,000 employees and sales in excess of $1.1 billion.”

Robinson intends to continue as a member of the company’s board after he retires.

“Having served as Alamo’s president and CEO for more than 21 years, I feel this is the right time for a change in leadership and for me to spend more time with my family,” Robinson said. “It has been my absolute honor and privilege to lead such a great organization.”
