Created by industry innovator Brian Olson in 1989, Power Pin will continue to operate in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan. With many patented products to their credit, Power Pin has specialized in a range of products that provide a standardized hitch system for both heavy equipment and on-road applications. Many of the largest tractor manufacturers in the world include Power Pin products such as the “Drop-pin Hammer Strap Hitch” as standard factory safety and usability features.

S3 Group Appoints COO in Preparation for Alberta Expansion /news/s3-group-appoints-coo-in-preparation-for-alberta-expansion/ Tue, 06 Jun 2023 14:49:30 +0000 /?p=23521 After seven years as the GM of S3 Air Systems and S3 Manufacturing, Al Marques was promoted to Chief Operating Officer as S3 Group prepares to open its sixth North American manufacturing facility in Medicine Hat, Alberta. 

S3 Group President & CEO, Richelle Andreas states, “Al Marques joined S3 in 2016 as the General Manager of S3 Manufacturing and S3 Air Systems. Marques is the driving force behind S3’s new product development and has a demonstrated track record of building teams for success. Al has played a vital role in the growth that S3 has experienced, and we are very pleased and optimistic to have this level of leadership in such capable hands.” 

Headquartered in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, S3 Group’s manufacturing facilities have been operating at or near peak capacity. Marques will be leading S3 Group’s development of a manufacturing expansion facility in Medicine Hat that is on schedule to be operational in the Fall of 2023. Encompassing over 16,000 sq ft of office and manufacturing space, operations will include an engineering centre, metallurgical lab and advanced testing equipment. The facility is expected to produce over 100 jobs in a diversity of fields such as product design, engineering, metallurgical studies and manufacturing. 

With existing manufacturing facilities in both Canada and the US, S3 Group settled on Medicine Hat as the next expansion location for several reasons. The transportation corridor was logistically beneficial, however the regional economic development initiatives towards industry diversification and workforce development, provided an attractive investment atmosphere given S3’s growth strategy and commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

TEMP Farm Equipment, which is based in Mitchell, Ont., is best known for its AWS airbars that introduce airflow into the header of a combine, which the company says reduces shatter loss, increases yields, and improves ground speed.

Under the new ownership structure, AWS operations manager Mark MacDonald becomes general manager. AWS will continue to operate in Mitchell.

AWS and S3 have a shared history. S3 Air Systems manufactures the rotors used in AWS’s flagship airbar.

“I have tremendous respect for the business that Jeff Dolmage, Mike De Corte and their partners have built,” said S3 Group CEO Richelle Andreas. “They have demonstrated a corporate culture of customer responsiveness, actively developing employees for success and a world-class product. This acquisition makes S3 stronger, and I am excited about what it means for our future.”

TEMP Farm Equipment is best know for its AWS airbars that introduces airflow into the header of a combine, in an effort to reduce shatter loss, even at higher ground speeds.

AWS product is sold worldwide with a dealer network throughout North America, Europe, South Africa, Australia, and Japan.

Under the new ownership structure, AWS operations manager Mark MacDonald will take on the role of general manager, responsible for day-to-day operations, product development, and distribution, based at Mitchell.

S3 Group, based at Swift Current, Sask., designs, develops, and manufactures several OEM components across multiple divisions, including grain fans and the rotors used in AWS’ airbar.
