ASABE Revises ISO of Guards for PTO Drive Shafts

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has revised the adoption of ANSI/ASABE AD5674:2024 OCT2025 Tractors and machinery for agricultural and forestry — Guards for power take-off (PTO) drive shafts — Strength and wear tests and acceptance criteria.

The updated adoption with deviations aligns the standard with the latest edition of the basis ISO document. Notably, the revision expands coverage to include Type 4 PTO drive shafts, reflecting continued advancements in safety and performance testing for agricultural and forestry machinery. The deviations incorporate updated normative references.

The adoption will further harmonize national and international standardization, a goal that facilitates manufacturing, safety advancements, and product marketing worldwide.
