Job-Hunting Tip: Do Not Steal During Interview
A Japanese man recently was arrested after admitting he stole a company president’s wallet during a job interview.
The suspect met with the president of an elevator maintenance company in Yokohama in November. Police allege that when the president stepped out of the room, the job candidate grabbed his wallet from his bag. It contained the equivalent of roughly $450.
Since the suspect and the president were the only people in the room during the interview, and the suspect left his name, address, and phone number with the president, it was a quickly solved case.
“I wanted to work for that company, but since I haven’t got a job I needed money,” the 24-year-old reportedly told police.
